A University Council,
established in accordance with the Egyptian rules
and regulations concerning private universities,
will be responsible for all academic affairs of the
university. The President of the university chairs
the University Council. The Counselor, a government
representative also appointed by virtue of and in
conformity with the pertinent Egyptian rules and
regulations, is to be an ex-officio member of the
University Council. Other members of the Council are
the Vice Presidents, the Secretary General, the
Deans, and up to five external members. The
University Council determines the academic policies
and procedures of the University, subject to the
approved annual budget and the powers reserved to
the President. The University Council can also
appoint, as needed, committees or commissions
reporting to the council. Each Faculty will have its own
Faculty Council to advice the Dean on academic and
student matters. These councils, chaired by the
Deans, are comprised of Department heads and three
(3) professors. They have the functions, powers and
duties as may be delegated to them by the President
of the University. Recommendations from the Faculty
councils are addressed to the University Council.
Each academic department of the faculty will have its own
Department Council to advise the Department head on
academic and student matters. These councils,
chaired by the Department head, are comprised of
professors, associate professor, two (2) assistant professors. They have the
functions, powers and duties as may be delegated to
them by the President of the University.
Recommendations from the department councils are
addressed to the Faculty council.
