  Overview

The ACU Advantage:
Al Ahram newspaper was established in 1876 and has grown over more than 130 years into one of the largest media establishments in the world. In 2005, Al-Ahram establishment started a new landmark in Egypt, Ahram Canadian University (ACU), to continue the pioneering role in leading the cultural, educational and enlightening mission in Egypt.

In collaboration with the Association of Universities and Colleges in Canada, Al-Ahram established ACU as a modern university of superior international standards, employing innovative methods of education, primarily driven by academic excellence rather than profit considerations.

ACU is planned to provide students with their tickets to a bright future, by delivering distinguished university education that can be translated into advanced professional skills, better career prospects and higher salaries.

Communication studies at ACU:
Communication studies at ACU stress the balance between theoretical and practical skills. The philosophy of this four-year program is based on the belief that mass media specialists need excellent skills as well as a superior academic background to join the work force immediately upon graduation and play a constructive role in public life.

The Faculty of Mass Communication curriculum has a strong global emphasis while maintaining close linkages to the Egyptian context. In addition, the curriculum is firmly grounded in liberal arts, where all students take a strong core of courses to help them develop important skills and competencies necessary to work successfully in the complex and highly competitive media world.

Training and Internships:
Every Mass Communication student will have both in-house and external training and internships at Al-Ahram and other national and international newspapers and magazines, in addition to Egyptian & international TV channels, public relations firms and advertising agencies.
