Tuition Fees Payment System and Withdrawal Policy

 for ACU Faculties for the Academic Year 2017/2018

ACU Tuition fees, Discounts, Scholarships, Withdrawals and Refunding Conditions for the Academic Year 2017/2018 

Tuition Fees

 (*) Tuition fees should be paid for non-Egyptian students in Dollar.

A- Special discounts are to be determined according to the total grade of secondary school certificates and for some categories from the Egyptian students only.

B- The student who will be late in paying his fees will be charged 1% per week with maximum 10% for all or part of the tuition fees. The deadlines for the fees payment are at the beginning of the second week of October for the first installment (Fall semester) and the beginning of the second week of March for the second installment (Spring semester) annually till paying the full amount. Delaying or remission of fine is not allowed without a pre-consent from the university president. The delayed part shouldn’t exceed 50 % of the actual tuition fees.

C- Tuition Fees are liable for discounts for the new students only starting from the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018. This does not include the old students.

Grants of Excellency for Students (Egyptian certificates only):

Excellent students will be granted the following extra discounts:

  • Students scored from 90-95% will be granted 750 discount for each semester in the following faculties: Business Administration, Mass Communication, Computer Science and Engineering.
  • Students scored from 95 to less than 100% will be granted 1500 for each semester in the following faculties: Pharmacy, Dental Medicine. Grants in faculties like Computer Science, Mass Communication, Business Administration and Engineering will be 1000.
  • Grants are only applied on Egyptian students according to the total percentage of Thanawaya Amma certificate when they enroll in the faculties for the academic year 2017/2018. The student’s accumulated GPA should not be less than 2.3 to be able to benefit from these grants throughout his academic years.
  • These percentages are applied only on the new students for the academic year 2017/2018. Old students will pay the same tuition fees without any increase or discounts.

Special Grants:

  1. Children of employees who work in Al-Ahram Organization or the university are eligible to get 50% off the tuition fees. The student’s accumulated GPA should not be less than 2 to be able to benefit from these grants.  This discount will be compensated by Al-Ahram Organization.
  2. Siblings of the enrolled students are eligible to get 10 % discount in all faculties at the university.
  3. The University President grants a discount for old students with special social conditions with maximum 10% only from the total tuition fees. This is determined according to the documented request submitted by the student guardian. The discount is canceled in case the student scores a GPA less than 2. The scholarship is retrieved in case the documents submitted to the University to be granted a scholarship have proved to be invalid.

General Conditions for Scholarships and Discounts for the New Students for the Academic Year 2017/2018:

1-The student is not eligible to get more than one discount in addition to the grant of excellence. This includes the tuition fees only.

2- It should be noted that the maximum discounts should not exceed 50% of the tuition fees.

Withdrawal

First Term

A)- Registration is open at ACU throughout the academic year by filling in the application form for 500 L.E. (non-refundable). Admission is granted after submitting all the required document and payment of tuition fees. The student's guardian signs a document to prove compliance with the admission rules and regulations set by the Unive4rsity Council for Higher Education.

B)- For withdrawal from ACU and tuition refund, the student or guardian fill in an application form. The form fees is un-refundable. A check with the refunded amount is issued to the student within one month of submitting the withdrawal form after deducting the following administrative expenses:

1- In case of withdrawal before August 31 for the Fall Semester or before Feb 1st for the Spring Semester, an amount from the tuition fees is deducted for administrative expenses according to the following:

  • Faculty of Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Engineering: An amount of 6,000 L.E. is deducted for Egyptian students and 600 $ for Non-Egyptians.
  • Faculty of Mass Communication, Business Administration and Computer Science: An amount of 4.500 L.E. for Egyptian students and 450 $ for Non-Egyptians.

2- An amount is deducted from the administrative expenses as well as File fees in case of withdrawal starting September 1st and until the beginning of the Fall Semester or before February 1st until the beginning of Spring Semester according to the following:

  • Faculty of Pharmacy and Dentistry: An amount of 9,000 L.E. is deducted for Egyptian students and 900 $ for Non-Egyptians.
  • Faculty of Engineering: An amount of 7,000 L.E. is deducted for Egyptian students and 600 $ for Non-Egyptians.
  • Faculty of Mass Communication, Business Administration and Computer Science: An amount of 6,000 L.E. for Egyptian students and 600 $ for Non-Egyptians.

3- 50% of total tuition fees is deducted in case of withdrawal starting from the date of the beginning of classes or within two weeks from the beginning of the summer semester. All textbooks must be submitted in good condition.

4- Under no circumstances will tuition fees be refunded in case of withdrawal after two weeks from the beginning of classes for both semesters or after the beginning of classes of the Summer Semester.

5- Students are not allowed to attend classes after the date specified in the ACU calendar unless tuition fees are paid or has reasons approved by the University.

 

Withdrawal from the University after the First Semester:

  • Any student, who would like to withdraw after attending the final exams of the first semester and before the beginning of the second semester, must pay the following:
  • 800 LE for issuing a transcript.
  • 500 LE for the scientific content.
  • 150 LE for the withdrawal certificate.
  • Any student who would like to refund the tuition fees after the beginning of the second semester and within the first 3 weeks of the semester, will be charged 50% from the total tuition fees of the second semester, in addition to the following:
  • 800 LE for issuing a transcript.
  • 500 LE for the scientific content.
  • 150 LE for the withdrawal certificate.
  • Any student who would like to withdraw three weeks after the beginning of the second semester, does not have the right to refund any of the tuition fees of the second semester and has to pay the following:
  • 800 LE for issuing a transcript.
  • 500 LE for the scientific content.
  • 150 LE for the withdrawal certificate.
