Circulations

The Library checks out books through its circulating system. Patrons who have a valid borrowing ID card with no fines and no overdoes can borrow materials as mentioned below:

Patron Type Loan Period Maximum Books
Faculty members Two Weeks 3
Part time faculty One Weeks 1
Students One Weeks 2
Staff Two Weeks 2

Books can be borrowed from the circulation desk. NEVER allow another person to use your ID card or borrow items for another person as you are responsible for items borrowed on your ID. Each student has the right to borrow two books at a time for just one week. If the student still needs these books, he/she can renew them for just one more week. If any of the books is overdue, then the student is subjected to pay fines. Fine charges for books are different from that of the reserve books, i.e., textbooks.

Fine Policy:

Last Return / Item Fine Per Day

From 1 to 10 Days 50 P.T.
After 10 Days 150 P.T.
Maximum Fine 50 L.E.
Lost Items
If the item is lost, the charge will be: Fine charges + overhead charge (50 L.E.) + replacement cost.

  • The Library will consider a Circulated Item "LOST" after 60 days overdue.
  • If a lost item is found within a year, only the replacement cost is refundable.
  • Students should receive a notice once before the mid-term exam and another before the final exams to return books.
  • If the library did not receive the books or collect the fines that a student has to pay, the following steps will be taken:
    • An overdue book will automatically block a student from borrowing.
    • In case the book is not returned by the end of the semester, the student's file will be automatically blocked. That student will not be allowed to pay the university's fees, go through the drop and add procedures or receive his graduation certificate unless he/she handles the matter with the library
